Hypnotherapist helps Clients find 'Pathways to Healing'

From weight loss and stress relief to pain control and even an improved sex life, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist Roberta Savitt recently explained how she has helped many clients lead happier, healthier lives during a seminar at Williams Island in Aventura.
For those who still associate hypnosis with the image of a pendulum swinging magician. Savitt said the word "hypnotist" denotes entertainment while "hypnotherapy" is conducted for therapeutic reasons.
"Hypnotherapy can help resolve psychological as well as medical problems including anorexia, obesity, 'type A' personalities, addictions, sleep disorders, allergies, back pain, and infertility," Savitt said. "Past lives and future lives can also be explored."
Savitt explained that past life regression can help people get to the root of their problems. "Before a session, I ask my client to make a list of the areas troubling them - often we discover there is a cause for their ailments due to a particular experience or trauma."
As an example, she cited a case where a woman had undergone years of psychotherapy for anorexia, bulimia and severe drug addition, with no improvement. After the therapist could uncover no apparent cause for the woman's ailments, she referred her to Savitt.
"This woman was addicted to 'numbing' opium based drugs," Savitt said. "That led me to believe she might be trying to block out a very traumatic experience."
Hypnotherapy sessions eventually revealed the woman had been molested when she was a young child by a trusted adult. "The revelation that she had encountered this horrible experience started a healing process," Savitt said. "Getting to the root of the problem can be the quickest path to curing it."
Another interesting case involved a woman trying to come to terms with why her father had not expressed affection to her as a child. "During our first hypnotherapy session, I asked the woman what lesson she thought she may have learned through this relationship," Savitt said. "She responded by saying, 'It taught me how important it is to be demonstrative and show affection to my own children.'"
A graduate of the Florida College of Medical Technology, Wellness Life Enhancement School of Hypnosis, Savitt is a Personal Growth Counselor with 22 years of experience and study in the fields of medicine, metaphysics and psychology. "I have a deep commitment to healing which prompted me to want to share my knowledge;' she said.
In addition to confidential hypnotherapy sessions, Savitt offers a series of tapes designed to help people take control of their lives entitled: "Think Slim", "Relieving Stress", "Having Great Sex", and "Pain Control".
Numerous medical professionals as well as clients have given testimonials regarding the effectiveness of the tapes. "Absolute listening for all surgical procedures,'' said Dr. Nat Price. "After living with hypertension for 20 years, I threw away my pills after listening," said Max Drobner. "These tapes helped me regain my health from an acute case of ulcerative colitis," said Beverly Falk Rosman.
